Project #2 - Final piece - Pendant
My pendant I worked on turned out fairly well. I worked on the piece for about a week or two in class and finished it feeling very confident in my abilities to saw out a general shape and being able to smooth it with files and sandpaper. Had the most trouble with smoothing out the corners with sandpaper or files, but it turned out better than I could have hoped.
Project #3 - Practice - Etching + Enameling
A test I did to see if etching would show through the transparent enamel. Worked fairly well, the giant "T" you can see in the lower corner I etched in harder than the "S" in the top corner (which may be hard to see). Didn't apply enough enamel in some spots giving it a rough surface, but as a first-time enameler, I feel very confident in my abilities for the final piece.
Project #3 - Final piece - Enameling
My finished enameling pieces, I started off by making the leaf and then continued to make the two worms. I felt like I could have worked on the size of the worm to the left as it ended up being bigger than the other worm. I also could have worked on the size of the leaf because it ended up as a small centerpiece, and although it was the best out of all the three I did feel like there could have been more enamel on the piece to make it look greener and not so copper-like.
